Agenda for Kelham Island Seminar 19th April 2018
There are only three days to go till our annual seminar at Kelham Island in Sheffield on 19th April.
For those signed in to attend, the doors will be open at 8.00am to allow for the exhibitors to set up their stands, although tea and coffee will not be served until 8.30. The following agenda will then hopefully be followed
8.45 – 9.00 am: Assembly in the venue room for Tea and Coffee
9.00 – 9.15 am: A brief introduction and housekeeping: Peter Minto
9.15 – 10.00 am: A general overview of health and safety over the last 12 months and expectations for the next 12 months: David Fagg
10.00 – 10.15: Break and meet the exhibitors.
10.15 – 11.00: Lisa’s Story. Safety ambassadors Lisa Ramos and David Garton provide their account of when things went wrong.
11.05 – 11.25: New technology. An overview of latest in noise control technology in the workplace: David Greenberg. Eave Ltd.
11.30 – 12.00: Fleet management. Some problems and some solutions: Russel O’Neill, Fleet Transport manager to a national PLC
12.00 – 12.45: Lunch and peruse the exhibitors around the perimeter of the room
12.45 – 1.15: Don’t take no for an answer. Cynthia Barlow OBE. Human life account
1.20 – 1.50: Managing large temporary gatherings. Simon Bell. Senior Lecturer, UK Centre for events Management, Leeds Beckett University
1.50 – 2.00pm: Tea and coffee and chat with exhibitors.
2.00 pm until 3.30 pm
Option 1. Go down and look at the mighty Don steam engine which fires up at 2.00 pm, then browse the museum.
Option 2. Stay in the exhibition room, chat to colleagues and chat to the exhibitors.
